Kauro, the chef, is humble and so very talented.
Focused on sustainable produce and authentic servings, set in a peaceful little dining space. Lunch offers and affordable pricing.
I always get a warm pot of tea too. It's lovely.

Jonas and Sebastian who run this little geniously perky coffee bar have become my friends, from me visiting so frequently.
The coffee is excellent, the place is fun and the guys are kind.

My most recent workplace where I worked as a sommelier and SoMe for 2 years. Not just a wine- and beer bar, but also a kitchen from early morning to late night and a coffee spot. At Gaarden & Gaden I never know what to expect when I'm on my way to work. Some days I arrive and there's quirky live jazz playing, people dancing and the beer tap running continuously and others, I walk in and it's calm and relaxed with guests slowly chatting away, having a bite to eat, pouring good wine. All natural wine.

I don't actually go to Koelschip very often, but the times I have gone, it's been great. This is a niche beer bar, specialising in Belgian sour craft beer - Lambic, Gueuze, Kriek and the likes. No Tuborg or Carlsberg here for a mere 15,- Danish kroner. Nope - here it's all about artisanal, micro brewery craft-beer. They serve tasty, tangy, original and high-quality beer, that comes with an equal price tag.

This is a little grocery store with good quality (and almost always organic) produce. Irma will, in most cases, have all the quirky and little gourmet things that other bigger supermarket chains don't. Not cheap, though.

This Netto convenient as it's close by and I find it to be quite tidy and organised as well as good for the price. Many organic options, but not my preferred go-to grocery store for quality produce.

This is one of two nearest busstop to my home. Bus 66 calls here in the direction of the city centre and Christianshavn - the direction when headed from Nørrebro to Hovedbanegården (Central Station).

The S-tog and metro (equal to the english tube) station that is situated closest to my house. There's two lines running here: the S-tog's yellow F-line and the metro's red M3. This is also a busy busstop with many different lines to catch.

By the look of my bank statement, this is my favourite place to shop for clothing. A great little second hand shop that focuses on more items of good quality (here I'm not thinking Gucci or Dior or things like that) but more so the likes of Danish fashion brands as Stine Goya and Ganni, mixed with APC and more understated clothing.
Only women wear.

This is a modern merchants market. I adore it and can find myself suddenly having spent several hours just pondering about, looking, tasting, chatting and purchasing delicious and fresh produce. Mostly whole food of meat, fish, cheese, greens and flowers but also many shops with wine, spices, tea, chocolate, sweets and juices.
Coffee Collective also has a spot here.
Known locally to be a bit of a posh market, which is also reflected in its prices, but I'll guarantee you'll enjoy spending some hours here - spending or not.

Mostly whole food of meat, fish, cheese, greens and flowers but also many shops with wine, spices, tea, chocolate, sweets and juices.
Coffee Collective also has a spot here.

Local liquor shop with best selection of high end spirits, best atmosphere and best service. Even if your not out to shop anything, it's worth a visit. Oh, and also: they offer samples!

So. Even though The Lakes are situated right in between four neighbourhoods of Copenhagen (Nørrebro, Østerbro, City and Vesterbro), it is quite peaceful and refreshing to take a walk around these iconic waters. I would also go as far as to say, that you haven't really been to Copenhagen, if you haven't had a stroll around The Lakes.
