Just across the water....car ferry or hover/ fast cat from Portsmouth. Park in Gunwarf Quay for £8.00 and spend the day exploring the island. Beautiful beaches ....Shanklin....Sandown . Definitely worth a visit throughout the year...but in the summer it becomes sunshine island
