This trail is not too difficult and the view of the lake is stunning especially during the day. There is an option for an even better view, but the climb can be challenging. It was worth it to me.

We do this every year and its a differenthike each time. Our last hike here we encountered three mouse! They are bigger than they appear. The view at the end of the trail is without a doubt worth the hike.

Be mindful of keepinga full tank of gas as you can go some distance without gas ...and if you time it right you can watch the sunset at the end of your drive.

Its easy to get distracted by the beauty when you're driving, but please keep your eyes on the road at all times as they can be winding or narrow.

The locals are some of the nicest people you'll encounter , be respectful of cape breton so they remain that way. Don't be surprised if they open a door, let you in line, or stop their car to let you cross the street.

Rain jacket , because it's an island the weather can be all over the place.

Tight fitting hat bc it can be both sunny and windy .

bathing suit jk the water is too cold to swim, but the locals don't agree with me!
Bug spray, its Canada and we have mosquitos and other insects that can annoy you.
