Madrona Arms has great food mixed with a welcoming pub feel. They have delicious sweet potato fries, sandwiches, burgers, & beer.
My go-to is the Salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries and ranch dressing.

Great spot to walk to on a weekend for Doughnuts. Very yummy but they run out quickly. Once they've run out they close for the day so plan accordingly.

The primary hot spot is 23rd & E. Union. There's a PCC Community grocery store, multiple restaurants, Uncle Ike's, and beer garden called Chuck's Hop Shop

It's a great spot for people-watching. The southern section is a sports field with space for spectators, dogs, and wide-open spaces.
