This is your best bet if you want Louisiana style food at a reasonable price in the downtown area. It is fun to walk along the river before or after your meal.

Further from the house than other options but reasonably priced cajun food. They serve alligator and crayfish year round. Very spicy!

We highly recommend trying a frozen daiquiri from the drive-thru stands while in Louisiana. You can get them here or at Thrifty Liquor. Cajun Daiquiris has B1G1 Free from 4-7 pm on Weekdays.

A fun local bar which spins (sometimes you must ask them to turn it on). A separate beer bar with 60 beers on tap including from local breweries. Brass Monkey and The Cub are in the same parking lot.

Free Art Gallery close to the house. There is a lovely garden behind it with Azaleas blooming in the spring. All free and the garden has early morning and evening hours too.

Nice trails and oxbow lake off the Red River. One side is flooded from rain in 2016 but most of the park is still accessible.
