Lovely small Italian restaurant. Food is great and the atmosphere is very cozy. To book ahead since it’s a very small place. Ideal for couple :)

Amazing and good value place to discover Surinamese food and its famous Roti, a sort of crêpes that comes with tasty vegetables and meat/tofu/tempeh. If the restaurant is closed, try the take away :) always super busy but it’s a must do. Literally a minute away from the apartment.

The place is known for tasty roasted half/full chicken and its insane beer menu. Big terrasse in summer, facing the park. I recommend to book ahead as the place is famous.

Seriously good Mexican Food served by Geronimo the owner. It is a bit pricey but this is just top notch ingredients. The place looks dope as well 🙌

A jungle bar. Super cool for drinks, I’d recommend to have food somewhere else though. I was disappointed by their truffle pizza.

Probably the trendiest bar of the neighbourhood. Ideal for groups and couples. Famous for beers and cocktails. I find it a tad overpriced but that goes with the place I guess.

A must do, an institution, a landmark. This traditional Dutch windmill is the home of the most famous Dutch brewery (besides heineken ah ah). It closes at 8 so you know what you have to do.

What a gem. This is a bit further away in Flevopark but there’s nothing like having a tea, beer or genever (dutch gin-like liquor) in this place on a sunny day. You’ll face a tiny lake where ducks keep landing and taking off.

Lovely lowkey coffee and cake place. Students are working around, locals are walking their dogs. Very chill and relaxing.
