Shenandoah Valley
Walk/Hike
This park is located about 1.5 miles on the same road as our home. It is an off leash dog walking area with some slight hills. Many people choose to run in this area as well and there are mile markers. Our dog loves all the smells and there is a bit of a view of the mountains in all directions when you are on top of the hill.
Coyner Springs Park

You can either drive (plug it into the GPS) or walk to this park by taking River Road all the way down. The river runs through this park as well and our dog loves to swim here too. There is a playground and a public pool (for a fee) in the summer months.

Sightseeing
If hiking is not your thing, Shenandoah National Park has many beautiful overlooks you can drive to and stop at for some great photos or to have a picnic! The Blue Ridge Parkway is also known for its beauty. In addition, there are two scenic overlooks on I-64 as you head toward Charlottesville.
