Great beer and food. Nice spot in downtown Waynesville, especially on the back patio. The Gem downstairs is a nice low key with pool table, darts, occassional concert/karaoke, etc.

Best breakfast place within a 30 minute radius of the cabin. Open daily for breakfast/lunch. Diner is approx 15 minutes from Moonlight Ridge. Likely a line when you get there, but worth the wait.

An approx 1.4 mile out-n-back high elevation hike about 15-20 minutes away from cabin. To Parkway, then toward Cherokee. Can be part of a driving loop that includes visit to Maggie Valley and Waynesville.

We love this hike. It's high elevation boreal forest. Not a view from the top, but some nice views on the west side of the loop. Recommend hiking the loop counter-clockwise.

Nice hike, can be made as an out-n-back Sam Knob summit hike, or take the trail that swings to the south(Flat Laurel Creek) for a nice 5-6 mile day hike. It's in an area of abundant blueberries in July/August
