Waterfront District

Thunder Bay used to be two cities, Port Arthur & Fort William. The cities amalgamated in 1970. That means we have two downtowns. We recommend visiting downtown Port Arthur, now known as the Waterfront district for gorgeous views of Lake Superior, great dining and local shopping. Not far away is the historic Bay & Algoma district also lined with cute local shops and local restaurants.
