Cozy, intimate and a great value for the food! We usually sit at the bar. The chicken potpie is the most popular thing here (obviously) -- it's $14 and enough for two people.

Absolutely one of our FAVORITE spots in town. A little jewel box of a bar and a veritable slice of Paris. Champagne-focused menu that goes on and on; very small kitchen churning out croque madames and the best frites in town until 1 a.m. Tues-Sat. Great for Sunday brunch, too.

There always seems to be a huge mob of people waiting to get into this blue ribbon BBQ restaurant, so if you want to avoid the wait, make reservations (for lunch or dinner). Great brisket, but a bad habit of running out of burnt ends. Everyone loves this place, and with good reason. It's one of the top "new school" bbq joints in KC.

Innovative plates from Michael Corvino, one of Kansas City's most talented chefs. Dine in the supper club and order off the menu (get the seaweed donuts -- trust us on this) or sign up for the tasting room for a one-of-a-kind luxury dining experience. Listen. Kansas City is known for its BBQ, but Fox and Pearl is emblematic of Kansas City dining at its best: It's 99% locally sourced menu (the only non local item is the foie gras, it's from NY). From the site: 'Thomas Hart Benton's life is present in both his home and his paintings, and both are preserved at Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site. A trip to the home and studio of the renowned painter, sculptor, lecturer and writer offers a glimpse into how the talented Benton lived and worked. Benton converted half of the carriage house into his art studio, which remains as he left it. Visitors can still see coffee cans full of paintbrushes, numerous paints, and a stretched canvas waiting to be transformed into another of his masterpieces. Thomas Hart Benton died in his studio in 1975. '
