Do not speed: the police are on top of it down here.
Getting to Gulf Shores you pass through several small towns. BEWARE: these small towns love tourists a little too eager to get to their getaway. Mind the speed limits.

Gulf Shores is a tourist location and you will pay a premium for things like sunscreen and beach towels or umbrellas. Buy it before you travel and you will save a ton of money.
