Inhabited by Alaska fishermen, fantastic fishing and hunting photos posted by locals through the decades, and a full menagerie of mounted wild animals, with, of course, huge halibut and salmon.

Catch a ferry ride across Kachemak Bay to this picturesque tiny seaside fishing village nestled in an old-growth Sitka Spruce forest. Wonderful day trip. Do take the 1/4 mile trail to Outside Beach.

Reasonably priced rooms and food. Fantastic view of Matanuska Glacier. Filled with mounted bears, wolves, and many other animals, & Diamond Willow woodwork throughout. Good stop even just for coffee.
