Evergreen is 15 minutes away but you feel like you are deep in the mountains. Nice drive & views. Locals are welcoming and amazing. Places to go to while there: Little Bear Saloon (bar & grill w/ music), Cactus Jacks (on Bear Creek). Visit Evergreen Lake (in the winter you can ice skate on the lake).

Anyone watch the Shining? Well this is where it was filmed. It is also located in Estes Park which is one of the most beautiful places in Colorado. Well worth the hour drive for the history, beauty and a bit of movie history.
