The Newt in Somerset is the latest great place to visit. Recently opened 2019 (then closed in lockdown) now open again. Garden cafe, farm shop, extensive gardens and woodland walks.
More recently the Roman Villa with its museum and interactive tour. Great for Kids and adults.

This is a new restaurant which has just been awarded the Bib Gourmand for it's delicious Middle eastern style food. I have yet to visit it, but definitely will do, and report back.

If you fancy a delicious locally sourced beef burger (also do vegi options, chicken etc) we would highly recommend BDWs. Originally started by local farmers it is a family run restaurant, great food, and atmosphere.
Ideal to Tack on a visit to Wells Cathedral, the Bishops Palace before or afterwards.

If you are here for a longer stay, the Dorset coast is just over an hours drive away. Visit Burton Bradstock for beach and seaside, Brideport or Lyme Regis for delicious fish restaurants. Travel a little further (90mins) to Lulworth cove and wonderful sea side walking.
