Sightseeing

Whether you just have time to stop to quickly stop to take in a beautiful view or decide to hike up to the tea house - Lake Louise is hard to beat! Be prepared though, finding parking in the summer time is very challenging. You’ll want to get here early or come in the off season. They have ice sculptures in winter so it’s the perfect time to visit and skate!

Schedule to take the gondola ride up for incredible (and easy) views of Banff! Dine in the restaurant and shop at the gift shop. Wander across the interpretive boardwalk to the Cosmic Ray Station on Sanson's Peak. Or to maximize your budget and hike up to wander the mountain top boardwalk. In the off season you can take the gondola free down at the end of the day.

Activities Kids will Love!

The Calgary Zoo is one of my favourite City activities! It’s small enough that you can make it around comfortably and get pretty up close to some beautiful animals. Plus is large enough to have all of the animals you hope to see at a zoo! If you’re visiting in the winter time and the temperature is just right, try to be out for the 11:00 am penguin walk, where they parade around the zoo! Their located along the LRT line so you can access the zoo without a car.

Can you tell we love to ski?! There are so many places right on our doorstep! Lake Louise and Sunshine are the two most obvious choices for travellers (we love them too!). But don’t miss out on some of these other gems we recommend!

1.5 hours from our place. Make sure you get here early to get a parking spot! Sunshine is a favorite for the iconic gondola ride in, cross BC border skiing located on the Continental Divide of the Canadian Rockies receiving on average 30ft of snowfall in a season! BY FAR our favourite ski resort in the Rockies. Its a hidden gem because of its distance from towns with airport accessibility and awesome snow. If you're wondering where you should go after visiting Calgary and skiing our more local mountains make the haul to RED. 7 hours from our place - but its a wicked mountain drive with two optional routes. This resort was voted "most underrated resort" with 5 different peaks and 2,919 feet of total vertical drop! Located in Rossland, BC. https://www.redresort.com/

Drive the iconic icefields parkway on your trip to ski Marmot Basin. Give yourself extra time to complete this rugged mountain drive, you'll likely want to stop and visit the Athabasca glacier and Columbia Icefield Skywalk. This drive is a bit of a haul for a day trip at 4.5 hours from our place but well worth it for the views, drive, and skiing!

Neighbourhoods

Welcome to your home away from home! Where there’s a central shopping hub and great hiking trails and paved pathways. You’ll cross paths with many people out walking their pups! Be sure to wander down to the 12 Mile Coulee to explore our local hiking trails. Tuscany has access to the LRT system (train) that will take you downtown for a night out!

The neighbouring community (just a stone throw across Stoney Trail) has lots of restaurant options, shops, and a movie theatre. If you’re looking for things to do that aren’t too far away (everyday things) you’ll find it here.
