Food Scene

One of our fave spots. Great spot for breakfast, coffee or brunch. We LOVE the braised chicken tacos for brunch or dinner. Also, a great place to work with wi-fi during the day.

This is in Fishtown, so about 15 minutes drive, but it is hands-down one of our favorite dinner spots in the city. One of the most beautifully designed dining rooms you'll see - anywhere! The food is rustic/modern Italian. Drinks are great.

The best hummus you'll ever eat - it's all they serve here; a few new renditions each day. Stop by here for a quick bite and a beer if you are in center city.

Um, best doughnuts. Get the made-to-order variations, and try the glazed. It's a healthy walk from the house, but then you can justify eating the doughnuts. Also, they have korean fried chicken and a chicken sandwich that you should try, too - served after 11am. So good.

Филадельфийский музей искусства
2600 Benjamin Franklin Pkwy

Near Whole Foods. Walk there from the house - take South Street all the way there. Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG) is a nonprofit visionary art environment and community arts center located in Isaiah Zagar’s largest public artwork. Spanning half a block on Philadelphia’s famous South Street, the museum includes an immersive outdoor art installation and indoor galleries. Zagar created the space using nontraditional materials such as folk art statues, found objects, bicycle wheels, colorful glass bottles, hand-made tiles, and thousands of glittering mirrors. The site is enveloped in visual anecdotes and personal narratives that refer to Zagar’s life, family, and community, as well as references from the wider world such as influential art history figures and other visionary artists and environments. PMG has become a unique Philadelphia destination and hosts educational opportunities and diverse public programming to thousands of visitors each year.
