The Chemuyil pueblo is the closest town to the house and offers several small grocery stores or "bodegas," fruit and veggie stands and a tortilla factory. You can't buy alcohol after noon on Sundays so plan ahead if that's your thing.

Xpuha is a beautiful beach with great swimming, paddle boarding, massage, live music, good food. There are a couple of beach clubs to visit, this is only one of them.

Playa Xcacel is the closest beach to Casa Maare. It’s a sea turtle sanctuary and is open 8am to 4pm Tuesday- Sunday. There is a day use fee. 97MXP as of 2022. There is no bar or restaurant located here so bring your own chairs. What you will find is pristine ocean front, clear turquoise water and no crowds.
