Most visitors go here - but The Little Mermaid is really boring herself. The real attraction here is the surrounding area, where you can get a sense of Denmarks past as a naval superpower. The harbour-area is really scenic, and you could take a stroll on Kastellet, or use the harbour-bus to get across the water to Refshaløen. You could even go to the little handbuilt defence island Trekroner, or take a kayak-trip around the harbour. If your walk takes you north, you can discover Nordhavn - it used to be a harbour for trade and ferryes to Norway, but nowadays its one of the fastest growing parts of Copenhagen.
