Run by volunteers in Leadhills and Wanlockhead, the Lowther Hills ski centre is open when it snows and there are volunteers to run it. there's a beginners slope and a much more challenging slope. Check out their website for more information. https://skiclub.lowtherhills.com/

It's a beautiful drive to Daer Reservoir. Walk alongside the water, or walk through the nearby forest. There's a small road running to the right of the reservoir that you can drive along as well.
