NEIGHBORHOOD AMENITIES
These are some of the diverse (and almost entirely indigenous to Colorado) shops & restaurants that are just 4-5 blocks to the west along Alpine Ave (my street!). West is toward the foothills (toward the right as you walk out of my place).
For completeness, I've added two more that are slightly farther away (6-8 blocks) in the Historic Hotel Boulderado: The Corner Bar and Spruce Farm & Fish.
Local market turned small Whole Foods franchise - Organic products, salad and hot food bar (soups, entrees, pizza, deli) at back right of store.

Also super for a bowl of house-made soup and wonderful fresh bread (also about $5). Made to order salad bar and copious bakery goods also available. Usually 7am to 7pm, but different on holidays.
Outdoor seating with views to foothills.

A bit farther away (6-8 blocks), but the absolute BEST for a late-night meal option (closes at 11pm or later). This is conjoined with the Historic Hotel Boulderado. Clam chowder is extraordinary!

The Pearl Street Walking Mall is among my TOP THREE THINGS to see and do during a brief visit to Boulder. It is is the social and cultural center of town.
