Just before you turn down Browntown Rd. on your approach to the Farmhouse, you’ll pass the first entrance to beautiful Shenandoah National Park. Skyline Drive is must-do for lovers of scenic overlooks and fall colors, and the park’s visitors centers have trail maps and information about wildlife.

This is the closest of several local river outfitters--located just over a 20 minute drive from the Farmhouse, the folks at Downriver can get you set up with everything you need for a day of canoeing or tubing on the Shenandoah.

The town of Luray has a charming river walk and many nice restaurants. If you decide to drive through the National Park on Skyline Drive, Luray is a good place to pop back out and visit the town and caverns.

We aren't golfers, but there are several courses within a 40-45 minute drive (mostly on the north side of Front Royal). This course is well-reviewed and looks lovely in pictures--let us know if you give it a try!
