Sightseeing

A must-see place to visit and enjoy a lunch. The place is packed with the national specialty - parrilla, delicious grilled meat. It goes well with a nice glass of Uruguayan red wine.

A very large plaza in Ciudad Vieja, a great place to relax and peoplewatch. On one side you will see the door to Ciudad Vieja, the only portion of the walled city that is still intact.

Plaza Matriz is our favorite square in the city. The fountain was recently restored and the water in the fountain is flowing again. There is usually an antique market setup here too.

Drinks & Nightlife

Café Gourmand is our restaurant that we opened in 2017. If you fancy a great breakfast, brunch or lunch, we'd love to see you. Greg makes all of the pastries and bread by hand and we also roast our coffee direct from Colombia. Doubts? Check out our rec's on TripAdvisor and Google. You'll love our cafe!

Great place for a glass of Uruguayan wine. Ask Nico, the owner, for a tasting. He'll get you sorted with a nice selection of Uruguay's finest wines. We recommend a "tabla" filled with delicious meats and cheeses. We usually come here 2x per month!

Great cafe in the Old Town serving great coffee and delicious food run by a passionate couple from Colombia. Try a brisket sandwich, they have a meat smoker. They also roast coffee with us at Café Gourmand.
