The Disney Garage, as its plaque reads, is gray wooden structure, just big enough to fit a Model T car. Disney used it as an animation studio for several months after he arrived in L.A. in August 1923. It’s not recognized as his first studio by the Disney Corporation and it went through a long list of rejections – from Disneyland to the Smithsonian – before finally finding a home in Garden Grove.
