Along the harbor, there is a street lined with trees, cafes, and restaurants. This is one of the nicest places to spend time in Split, and is used as a meeting place by locals. The Riva seaside promenade is where the inhabitants of Split go to unwind. Most places along this route stay open until 11 in the evening, and it’s a great place to stop and have a good cup of coffee. A few places even have TVs to watch sporting events.

Don’t expect a palace though, nor a museum – this is the city's living heart, its labyrinthine streets packed with people, bars, shops and restaurants.
