It's a lot of water! Lake Taupo is the start of our longest river, the Waikato River. It narrows to go through a deep gully and drops off, creating the Falls.

At the start of the Huka Falls walkway, stop and go for a swim in the thermal stream that runs down to the Waikato River. A natural wonder and amazing to sit in the naturally formed 'spa' pool on the edge of the river.
