Beautiful steakhouse located up the hill, right in the middle of the forest. Limited hours (Wed-Sunday) so be sure to call and make a reservation. Fine dining at 9,000 ft! Steaks, fish, salad bar, soup bar, etc. Family run and amazing views of the Wet Mountains off of the patio. Be sure to check out their Sunday brunch buffet!

Comanche Lake
Full day hike with some serious views!
The Rainbow trail is truly amazing. You can hike in any direction from the base of the Comanche/Venebles trail, part of the Rainbow Trail. The access point to the Rainbow Trail at Comanche/Venebles Trailhead is less than a mile from the cabin. Trails go as far as you can imagine, and you can do a mini hike or take the full day and get up to any of the high alpine lakes, mountain peaks, etc.

Howl Mercantile in Salida (about 45 to an hour away) is a great boutique located in a very cool town. They have everything from candles to vinyl records to jewelry to handbags to delicious coffee.
