Just 6 blocks away - this is a 20-mile paved walking and biking trail that follows along the coast line. Great views, peaceful. Walk one mile to the north and arrive near downtown, go into town for dinner and walk back. Simon and Seaford's or Snow City Cafe are good nearby restaurant to aim for.

Walk one mile to the north and arrive near downtown, go into town for dinner and walk back. Simon and Seaford's or Snow City Cafe are good nearby restaurant to aim for.
About 20 minute drive to the south, nice boardwalks and lots of waterbirds to see. In the fall, the tundra and trumpeter swans stop over here and are beautiful to see. Continue on down the road afterwards for a beautiful drive down Turnagain Arm. One of the prettiest drives you will ever go on!

Potter Marsh Wildlife Viewing Boardwalk
2999 E 154th AveAbout 20 minute drive to the south, nice boardwalks and lots of waterbirds to see. In the fall, the tundra and trumpeter swans stop over here and are beautiful to see. Continue on down the road afterwards for a beautiful drive down Turnagain Arm. One of the prettiest drives you will ever go on!
Most beaches around Anchorage are mud flats ( that can trap you like quicksand) but Point Woronzoff (just west of the airport) is a rocky and sand beach that makes for a great beach walk close to town. You can walk there on the Coastal Trail if you are ambitious, or drive up Northern Lights boulevard.
