Hare Cottage is a delightful Victorian semi-detached cottage full of charm and quirks.
Less than 2 hours from Manchester, and 3 hours from London, it’s the perfect escape for groups and families looking for a unique countryside getaway.
Jam packed full of carefully chosen antiques and nature inspired decor, our cottage is located on an ancient farm (dating back to the Middle Ages) which has a small natural spa on it, an archery range and fabulous giant yurt.
We're a family of farmers, carpenters, archeologists and nature lovers, on hand to help you with anything you need. We simply can't wait to host you!
• The Layout •
Hare Cottage has 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, 1 living room (with wood-burner and 2 sofa-beds), 1 new shaker kitchen, a spacious bathroom and lovely big garden.
It comes fully equipped with: Bedding & fresh towels, soaps, shampoo, bath salts, tea, coffee, biscuits, complimentary firewood, outdoor fire pit for BBQs and beautiful views. Hare Cottage is also dog friendly (£10/dog/night).
Booking the Hot Tub Spa: +£89/group
Guests can book a 3 hour session in our magical Natural Hot Tub Spa for an additional £89/group OR a full 'Wellness Day Package' for £45/per person.

• Fun Farm Activities & Catering •

Archery lessons: (£19/person)
Perfect for all ages and abilities. Our range is next to the cottage, and our teacher Reg is a legend!
Yurt Hire: (£23/hour)
This is a wonderful space for special moments like popping a Cava by the fire, or cutting a birthday cake. Our yurt is spacious, unique and absolutely stunning.
Felt-making workshops: (£15/person)
Ideal for crafty groups wanting to learn a skill they can take home. Guests will make flowers using wool from our fields.
Scottish dancing lessons: (£19/person)
Can be booked inside the Yurt from Sundays - Thursdays. A wonderful way to get the giggles.
Afternoon tea: (£15/person)
£15/person. Served in the cottage by a beautiful fire. Includes: Teas, coffees, cakes and crumpets served in a living room.
Cooked Breakfast: (£15/person)
Just wake up and breakfast will be waiting for you. Chose from a pancakes, fruit bowls and yogurt menu, or a classic full english breakfast. Toast, coffee, tea and juices also included.
Local Fruit & Veg Box Delivery: (£19/box)
Delivered straight to the cottage. Jam packed full of delicious local produce. Absolutely awesome if you love delicious local ingredients!
Celebration Package: (£45/pp)
This is a great way to have an fun packed day and save £10/pp. Includes:
- Welcome decoration in the cottage ‘Happy Birthday’ ‘Happy Hen’ etc.
- 4 hour hot tub spa session.
- Chose your 2 hour activity: Archery / Scottish dancing lesson / felt making / afternoon tea.
These can be offered in the yurt (if hired) and also in the cottage. Please note that the yurt hire is subject to availability. Chose from:
- 20 min hands & feet massage reflex massage : £29/pp

Hot Tub Spa FAQs
Where is the Hot Tub Spa located?
Sheltered inside a beautiful oak structure 90 meters from Hare Cottage. It is in a private 17th Century walled garden overlooking a small lake full of wildlife.
What does natural mean?
Our Hot Tub spa is 100% oak, pine & larch wood, filled with fresh water, wood-fired and candlelit. So no chemicals or electricity - just fresh water & the incredible antiseptic and healing qualities of wood - it's delightful!
Why do we have to book a session?
Our spa takes 4-5 hours to clean, fill with 1700 litres of water and heat up to 38-40 degrees. We start preparations for guests at 12 midday so that sessions can begin at 5-6pm in the evening.
As an all natural Spa, start times can vary slightly depending on the outdoor temperature and heating times. From the moment your session begins, Guests can then enjoy 3 hours of private and uninterrupted spa pampering by candlelight.
What's a 'Wellness Day'?
It's an entire day of natural Spa pampering, gorgeous natural cosmetics and kimonos, followed by a delicious afternoon tea. Includes:
- 4 hour hot tub spa session + private showers and changing rooms.
- Full spa kit: Turkish Hammam towels, Moroccan exfoliation Kessa, kimonos and flip flops.
- Natural spa products: Salted foot-baths, essential oils, Moroccan Argan soap (black soap), a selection of body oils, natural Argila face masks, delicious herbal teas, infused water and a selection of handmade soaps to take home.
- 2 hour afternoon tea in yurt/cottage*: includes firewood, tea, coffee & cakes.
*Please note that the yurt is available Sunday -Thursdays. Wellness Day bookings on Fridays & Saturdays will have Afternoon Tea served in the cottage by a toasty fire or, weather permitting, in the garden.
What else do I need to know?
Guests are provided with fresh Turkish towels and changing rooms. Alcohol is not permitted in the Spa area. Children under 12 are not permitted, and over 12 must be accompanied. If you'd like to book, please get in touch with us directly.
- All spa goers must shower before entering the space.
- Alcohol is not permitted within the spa space.
- Children under 12 are not permitted within the spa space.
- Children 12-18 must be accompanied at all times.
- Spa guests will be required to sign a safety agreement prior to entry.
- Spa guests are asked to not touch the wood burner or lean on the glass in the green house.
• Tea & Pub Recommendations •
We're lucky enough to have an excellent pub restaurant 'The Hope & Anchor' near us in South Ferriby, (13 min drive) which we wholeheartedly recommend not only for it's food but also it's Humberside Views. It has won many national awards. Tea and cakes can be best enjoyed in Barton's Ropewalk Art Gallery and Museum.

Whether you're a cosy 4 looking for a quite cottage getaway or an extended family in need of a family-friendly house, Hare Cottage can accommodate you all! A cot can be arranged upon request. We can also provide a list of family friendly activities in the local area.

A short drive from a number of country parks (Normanby & Elsham Hall), historic market towns (Brigg & Barton-Upon-Humber), extensive walks (Lincolnshire Wolds & Humberside), and historic cities a little further afield (Beverly, York & Lincoln), there are no end of group friendly activities in the local area. We're more than happy to recommend a schedule.
