“A great day out for all the family, an amazing insight into Scotland's past coupled with fantastic views over Edinburgh and the surrounding area. In the castle you will find "Mons Meg" this siege cannon can shoot a 330 pound stone almost 2 miles - now days it just gets fired to tell us its 1 o'clock everyday. You will also find Scotland's Crown Jewels and be amazed by the architecture of the castle that has been built on top of a dormant volcano. You will not be disappointed with the castle and all it has to offer.”

“Classic example of a Victorian park, designed by Sir Joseph Paxton, and which measures 34 hectares (85 acres). Its set on the banks of the River Kelvin, and is (in my opinion) the best park in Glasgow. Depending on time of day / year, you may find joggers, cyclists, students, dog walkers, skaters and barbecuers all using this wonderfully green space, and the Kelvin walkway cuts right through the park. It's just two minutes walk from the flat, past the bars and restaurants in Gibson street, the entrance is opposite Eusebi's deli.”

“The 18-hole Garden course and the 18-hole Billiard Golf course combine to create Australia’s largest outdoor Mini Golf complex. Every track is uniquely shaped with its own obstacles, curves, ramps and challenges. No matter what your age or skill level, you are sure to have lots of laughs and create many happy memories as you attempt to conquer the tricks and traps of our two great mini golf courses. It’s terrific fun for the whole family!”

“A little closer to the centre than Arthurs Seat, Carlton Hill offers similar fantastic panorama views over Edinburgh and the surrounding area. A bit easier to get to the top too and walking distance from the flat. Take a picnic if its a nice day and enjoy the views. ”

The Riverside Museum is Glasgow's multi award winning transport museum located on the banks of The River Clyde, with over 3000 objects on display from Glasgow's rich past. You will find an incredible array of objects from skateboards and vintage cars to prams and powerful locomotives.
