“The Chennault Aviation & Military Museum is located at 701 Kansas Lane in Monroe, Louisiana (at the entrance to Monroe Regional Airport). Admission is always free! The museum is fully accessible to all visitors, and a limited amount of wheelchairs are provided for use in the museum at no charge. We recommend that visitors allow a minimum of two hours to view exhibits. We offer a guided tour, but visitors are also welcome to browse the exhibits at their own pace. We are always thrilled to be able to showcase northeast Louisiana’s rich aviation and military history.”

“This simple structure built of handmade bricks, remains on its original site, having survived floods, fires, hurricanes, ice storms, and devastating neglect. Owned by the City of Monroe, it is leased to the Monroe Town Committee of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Louisiana. In 1962, these Dames began the effort to preserve the vacant building as a museum of early, local, southern, and American artifacts. In 1994, the museum received from the Louisiana Preservation Alliance its prestigious SPECIAL AWARD 1994. ”
