“This is NYers meeting point, where Broadway meets 14th Street. They have a great farmers market a couple of days a week. And a wonderful hidden playground for the little ones. There’s shopping all around, including the commercial fifth avenue shops like Anthropologie, GAP, H&M, Banana Republic, etc.; the magical ABC Carpet & Home, Paragon Sports, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Barnes & Nobles, and Babies R Us. Cinemas and the must-go Strand bookstore are in 13th street. Short walk to NYU’s iconic Washington Square Park. Great Christmas outdoors market for the holidays. To eat around here we recommend Taralucci e Vino on 18th street. ”

“Dumbo, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is one of the most-visited spots in Brooklyn. Just a couple of decades removed from an industrial past in which few people lived there and there was little reason to visit, it’s now a hotbed of dining, recreation and shopping with great views of the Lower Manhattan skyline.”

“Tribeca is one of NYC's most iconic neighborhoods. World class restaurants, bars tucked away in a quiet little corner (or triangle) of the city. Close to all train lines so getting around is easy, but you may not want to leave there's so much within just walking distance of you. ”

“- Visit the American Museum of Natural History in the morning, and then cross the street to the Grand Bazaar year-round outdoor/indoor market selling antiques, crafts, jewelry and just anything and everything. - While there (from 5p to 7p): There are many food options, but if you want great oysters, delicious bites, and a seamless service, a 15 min stroll from 77th to 87th street will take you right to the MERMAID INN. Simple but perfect, try the fried calamari, Lobster Knuckles, and as many rounds of oysters as you can handle- Must book ahead for a good experience. If Summer: walk over to the West Side Community Garden for a breath of fresh air and possibly a performance. Check online for schedule.”

“Once an industrial expanse of warehouses and taxi depots, Long Island City has seen remarkable change in the past two decades. Its waterfront is now lined with upscale, glassy new developments aimed at young professionals who seek luxury amenities and convenient access to Midtown. New parks, restaurants, bars, and other amenities have transformed this somewhat gritty area into a comfortable and scenic place to live and work. And the views of Manhattan are to die for!”
