“The Gatineau Park is a national park. It offers lakes for swimming, trails for walking, hiking, skiing, mountain biking. The Parkways within the park are turned over to cyclists on Sundays, just don't tell them it isn't theirs the rest of the time. Serious triathletes train here (swimming in Meech Lake), as do leasure cyclists wanting a hilly challenge. Runners train with a whistle to ward off the occasionnal bear and cub or insistant Canada geese. The old Carbide Mill ruinsat Meech Lake are as close as you can get to a nude beach in Ottawa...”

Natural Feature
“Lusk Cave is in the Philippe Lake area, about five kilometres from Parent Beach. It is an easy hike on trails that feature interpretation panels along the way. The 10-kilometre round trip takes about four hours. In the cave itself, water levels can be as high as a metre or more. It is recommended that cave explorers bring an extra pair of shoes, flashlight and safety helmet. Sandals and rubber boots are not recommended footwear.”

Парк
“Easy 2.1km hike around the green... Pink Lake. It's a great way to see Gatineau Park if you're looking for something short and sweet. Trail is meticulously maintained, with wooden boardwalks and stairs in some places. This trail can get pretty busy during "peak times" on weekends; I'd aim to go early in the morning or late afternoon.”
