Daisy Cottage is so close to many seaside choices:
* A two minute stroll gives you the pick of three, safe, sheltered sandy coves with intervening expanses of granite. They are just down the hill. The rocks are vantage points for whale watching, which is most rewarding in spring.
* A little further afield are more rock pools and a viewing platform where one can gaze north at the Bay of Fires coastline.
* In just three minutes walk from Daisy Cottage, 'The Gulch' [the small harbour] is an active spot with a mix of sea birds, boat launching, coffee stop, history display and scenic boat trip departures. There the Duggan family can answer any any local query related to their "i" sign.
* Dining or cafe patronage of "Lichen" is but a five minute stroll from your base. [This is the only food provider in Binalong Bay]
* Also within five minutes walk is Binalong Bay's iconic fine white sand beach. Many walk it's curved mile. A varied return can be along the rear dune Grants Lagoon track.
* A variety of tracks through the native coastal vegetation reserves, leave from Binalong Bay.
* Increasingly mountain bike enthusiasts are choosing to combine a coastal stay with the bike adventures of Blue Derby / Atlas descent / Weldborough / Blue Tier descent. All are between 50 and 65 minutes away. We know these places well!

Please Note:
The service town of St Helens is a 10 minute drive where you can find two supermarkets, chemist, hospital, post office, ATMs, tourist information services, other restaurants, coffee shops etc. It is possibly a good idea to stock up before arrival.

Revel (and his wife Helen) permanently enjoy the mild climate of Binalong Bay. By residing just one street away we are usually available to be attentive to your needs and rectify / explain any concerns.
Revel and Helen have spent most of their lives in the north east of Tasmania. Stints away to distant lands however have imparted us with a worldly perspective. indeed, over decades we have hosted many overseas students, community service visitors, backpackers and acquaintances and welcome the opportunity to share our knowledge with guests.
Revel has breadth of knowledge of Tasmania's North East and is happy to share it. Natural history, natural resource management and history are continuing passions involving rambling, serious treks and mountain bike. All the coastline is well know as is Blue Derby & Blue Tier mountain bike routes.
Helen's pastel paintings grace the walls of Daisy Cottage. She has an artspace nearby.

Daisy Cottage was most forlorn when we purchased it in two thousand & ten. [It still appears that way on (Hidden by Airbnb) Street View]. We are proud of how we have transformed the cottage. Feedback since completion has been most positive.
