I have been traveling intensely in my life and decided that Island Bornholm should be our base. Left Copenhagen when our babies where born. Being a traveller deep inside I know myself how to move and respect others and their homes. We have experienced that what we give we'll get back. Also therefore "my home is your home" and we will try to do our best for making your stay in our home a comfortable stay. You will stay in the main house and having the big garden for yourself. Next to the house is another house that used to be a professionel carpenter workshop. In the main house lived the carpenter family. Now the workshop is converted into a New Yorker Style studio flat (an extra summer residence) with a private garden in the back. When -or if we are here we will share only the parking lot. If you have kids and they like to come and play they will be mostly welcome (mine are from 2014 & 2016). We all respect each our privacy and the quite village :-) Info about our village/neighbourhood: Østerlars is located in an area designated as a "green connecting line" with special protection areas between Almindingen (forest area with bison oxen) and the coast south of Melsted (our beach ;-)). Just north of the town "Kobbeå" floats with the small waterfall "Stavehøvl". The starting point for that extremely beautiful walk is 100m away only. Bornholms largest round church "Østerlars Rundkirke" is located approx. 770 meters north of Østerlars. The church is surrounded by a farm building, and there are also traces of buildings from the early Middle Ages. In the area there are rune stones and medieval tombstones. A little east of Østerlars are Bækkegård and Rytterbakken - Bornholms largest burial ground and settlements from the Late Iron Age and Viking Age. The area north of the city, between the city and Østerlars round church, is protected. The traces of Gudhjembanen (old railway tracks) can be seen both in the landscape and in the form of the architecturally very successful station buildings "Østerlars Station" designed by Aage Refn and Kai Fisker. It still has the original red washed facades. The building is now used as a free private school. Two newer buildings have been built for the school in the style of the listed station building. Among the most conspicuous landscape traces of the disused railway can be mentioned where the railway has crossed "Kobbeå" north of Østerlars and then follows the long fissure valley to the southwest. There is now a cycle path here, which clarifies the previous track section. Where the track crossed the river, you will find the old railway viaduct which is built of granite. The railway viaduct contributes to the elevation of the river and thus to the beautiful waterfall, Stavehøl.
