This building was once a church and then the firehouse for the Village of Richmondville. The owner, an artist, renovated the building in 2007-2008 to use as her home and studio (on the first floor). Love has enabled this unique property to be available as an Airbnb rental. Situated on a large corner lot, the building feels very private, but is close to amenities and Interstate 88. There is also a waterfall behind the property.

Diana grew up in Washington DC where she studied with master printmaker Lou Stovall. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1985, with a major in illustration, and began her career as a book jacket designer for Harper & Row Publishers in Manhattan. In 1987 she attended Institute Supérieur de Peinture Décorative Van Der Kelen Logelain in Brussels, Belgium for an intensive six-month course in faux marble, wood-graining and trompe l’oeil. Diana was a professional decorative painter for 30 years. She was commissioned to paint murals, decorative designs and faux finishes in residential and commercial interiors throughout the United States and internationally. Diana’s work was featured in The World of Interiors (February, 1992) and Architectural Digest (February, 2003). Throughout her career, Diana continued to pursue her own art, through experimentation with new materials and techniques. Recent work includes copper mosaics of oxidized, dyed and painted copper, and mixed media paintings of gold leaf, acrylic and oil. Diana lives in an old firehouse in Upstate New York that she renovated in 2007. She devotes her time to her art, working in her garden, and hiking the hills around her home. She is represented by Tilting at Windmills Gallery in Manchester Center, VT and Gallery 548 in Cobleskill, New York.
