Cozy apartment in the historic walls of Talamone, a small sea town: small living room with tv (and a couch pull out bed 165 x 200m), a connecting kitchen area with a wooden table to eat/work, a balcony with table and chairs view of port & sea), a bedroom (double bed) and a bathroom with shower and washing machine. It is a classical house that was refurbished a few years ago. You can also see the Park dell'Uccellina. Floors are in terracotta, ceilings in part of the house have wood logs.

It is a small and cozy home with a beautiful view from the balcony.I love eating there.

Где вы будете

Talamone, Тоскана, Италия

This apartment is in the center of Talamone.
Talamone is a village town on a rocky promontory, which lies on the southern border of the Maremma nature reserve, in a dominant position along the whole stretch of the sea's coast arriving at Mount Argentario.

The surrounding area is characterized by the presence of the typical Mediterranean scrub and long sandy beaches, lined by pine trees.

Right behind Talamone is the Parco dell'Uccelina, a hilly Natural Park reserve.

The contrast between the Park and the chrystal clear water is quite amazing!

In Talamone there are some very good restaurants, a small supermarket, many bars for breakfast, a wonderful bakery, a few stores and ice cream parlor.
Parking space is in the main parking square (400 m from house but here you must pay) or in available parking spots around Talamone (these are free, but do not park in the antique small center or in the parking spots reserved for residents). Otherwise there is an open arking lot about 800 m from the paese, on the way to Talamone (a P sign is on the curve, before the old cemetary) . There also is a parking spot near the tennis court, after the old cemetary, but this one you pay for).

The surroundings are truly wonderful: many sea locations, islands and a beautiful countryside with, hills, antique towns, etruscan ruins, many farms that also sell product etc. Near by there also are antique towns such as Magliano, Montiano, Pitigliano and Manciano. There are also many locations for horseback riding, a tradition here in Maremma.

There also are many incredible beaches to visit nearby. Mount Argentario has a beach called Feniglia which I recommend! It is a very long white beach, with umbrellas, restaurants, bars, playground areas, chairs etc. I usually go on the side of the beach near Calagalera, Porto Ercole.
There also are many areas along the beach that are free, where you can just lie down on your towel.
You can also rent bikes here and go along the pine tree track, right behind the beach, where you see deer. There is a field near the Ansedonia side of the Feniglia beach where you can find deer every afternoon around 6 pm.

Then there is the beautiful Giannella beach - which has many areas with beach umbrellas, bars, restaurants on the seafront etc.

Here there also is a free beach area called S. Florenzo. Then there is Alberese, a beautiful beach within the park, Colle lungo, the Giglio island, etc). In Alberese you can rent bikes, go hiking, go canoing, etc. You need a car to reach these locations ( 10 -25 min away).

From Talamone you can also rent boats to go around the Parco dell'Uccellina shores and bays. It is well worth it. Beautiful rock and sand beaches, right inside the Natural Park.

There also is a ferry boat for the Giglio island and Giannutri islands. Two of Tuscany's most famous islands. Even the ferry for the Elba island is just 1.30 hours away.
I often also go visit cities like Siena (1 hr 10 min ), Grosseto (25 min), Orbetello (15 min) and the thermal area of Saturnia, only 1.15 hrs from Talamone.
Talamone itself has 2 beaches/water points you can walk to.

One has beach umbrellas, bar, restaurant, showers, and a beautiful bay view. It has a rock base, water is crystal clear, and people love to dive here. There also is an area for small children where water is low. It is called the "bagno delle donne". You must reserve an umbrella in time ( needs planning) or go early in the morning and see if Daniele, the manager, has an available place. It is Very popular in high season so early reservations are required.
Then there also is the "cannone" beach. It is a small pebble rock beach right under the ancient walls of Talamone (stairs to go up and down along the ancient walls). Must get here early because it is small

The Talamone bay (on the side near Fonteblanda) also has a well known surfing and kite surfing school and location where you can also rent equipment. I often drive 5 minutes to Talamonaccio from Talamone. To get there...go to Fonteblanda with your car, then take the small dust road on the right, called Via Gaetano Carotti, just before you get on the Aurelia road (direction: Orbetello). Drive a few minutes down this small road and park at the end of the road , where the road splits in two, near a small electric grey structure for electricity. Walk on the flat road ( not the one that turns up to the left) near the big house with a beautiful garden and enjoy the beach at the end. Small but lovely. I have pictures of this road on my home description, to help you find it. I always bring a towel and my umbrella.

I love this area in Summer but it is also wonderful (and less full) in Spring time and in Autumn (I start swimming in April until November and love it).

A recent article on the Corriere della Sera, one of Italy's top national newspapers, describes the beaches here as some of the most beautiful in this country. Here is the article - https://www.corriere.it/cronache/cards/ecco-spiagge-piu-belle-d-italia/parco-naturale-maremma-toscana.shtml

For horseback riding with lessons and restaurant I suggest - Tenuta Agricola dell’Uccellina. Tel number 0564-597104.

Great products and a small free zoo are at the La Parrina near Albinia.

On Feniglia beach I go to Mamma Licia for umbrellas and chairs. Also have a good restarant.

Near Talamone, in the park, I find it fun to go to “Buratta” restaurant, azienda agricola. Casual, in the open, I suggest to reserve and go at 8 pm exactly. It can get crowded in summer and they call you to get your food when it is ready. Instead you get your own antipasti at the serving area. Wonderful, simple food. If you get there early, walk up the hill to see the horses.
Ask to be seated up at the last level in the open.
