Чем вы займетесь
After a brief introduction to mindfulness and a safety check in, you'll learn a mindfulness practice that helps you intentionally train your attention, without judgment that you can take with you wherever you go. You, along with up to seven other guests, will try on the first activity as a group; we'll discuss questions and then we'll start walking. During the walk I'll ring a chime and when you hear it, you'll pause your conversations and practice the first technique as the chime sound fades. We'll keep walking, noticing the forest, water features, birds, sky, or vistas of the day. Every twenty minutes or so we'll practice the technique with modifications. We're building new mind muscles (through myelination) that help us use this practice in our daily life - beyond the trees and river of the park. We do better when our minds settle down - and there's a lot that kicks up the thought dust! These group walks allow you to explore mindfulness and a walking practice out. You can take one of the activities with you. As you add more to your repertoire you'll start recognizing what mindfulness looks like in your life - where you've already been using your attention intentionally without judgment, and where you can expand.
I bring small journals and pens if you want the option of writing down what you notice.
Hi! My name is Tia and I love taking people on guided nature walks that incorporate mindfulness. Nature walks help my mind settle when I'm puzzling over a challenge, they reinvigorate me, and leave me feeling refreshed. After twenty years as a vedic (fancy word for observing your thinking) meditation practitioner and enjoying the success of careers in environmental education and community health I decided to integrate my efforts. I launched my business, Finding Mindful Now, LLC. to work with people on recognizing their capacity and growth potential through mindfulness. On walks feel free to ask me about community building, how our environments affect our health, or about places to visit that make our region unique. Mindfulness walks are a way that we can reconnect to our wisdom, each other, and the natural world.

Где вы побываете
Willamette Park has an ADA accessible path with accessible restrooms. I choose parks that are their own attraction for their natural amenities (i.e. water, woods, vistas, paths) as well as a great stop before heading to neighboring areas. We'll follow the path in a loop through the park along the river and stop to listen to the breeze in the cottonwoods.
