Чем вы займетесь
Jamaica Bay is as chill as NYC gets. Ditch the noisy heat of the city and set sail into a realm which is both serene and exhilarating. Pop a bottle, soak up the sunset, stretch out and catch some ray's or help me sail the boat and learn a few things. The world is your oyster. Within a hundred yards distance from the dock, the signs of civilization start to fade away. Lush greenery dominates the landscape as we are flanked on both sides by wild parkland. Eventually the waters widen before us as we enter into Jamaica Bay proper. Directly to our north is Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge; the green heart of the bay let alone NYC. Grassy marshland and deserted islands interlaced with myriad channels are within reach. Ospreys, hawks, herons, and egrets are but a few of the birds that you can spy via the boats binoculars. If you'd like to get your feet wet or do a little shore-side exploration then we can drop anchor at one of several remote and secluded areas. Swimming is defintely an option. There are also 4 different restaurants with docks where we can tie up for quick drink. My boat, the Norfolk Oyster, is as safe and stable as she is beautiful, but it should be known that sailing is best undertaken by the able bodied & optimistic.

Hi, my name is Sean and I'll be your Captain aboard the sailboat "Christina". Ill also be your guide to Jamaica Bay; its history and natural environment. Perhaps I'll be your off-the-cuff sailing instructor if you fancy. Maybe I won't be anything at all while you tune out to the sound of the water lapping against the side of the hull. I grew up in the sailing community of Port Washington, New York on Long Island Sound. Ive sailed, drifted and motored on waters ranging from Penobscot Bay in Maine to the windward islands in the Caribbean. After I solo circumnavigated Long Island in my boat "Christina" I knew the time was right to share my love of the sea with others. But theres more! I hold a United States Coast Guard captains license (oupv) and a NYS Boating Safety Certification.

Где вы побываете
We will spend most of the experience sailing aboard the "Christina". There is the option to anchor off a small, empty beach or dock at one of several waterside restaurants along the way . Sailing westward under the subway bridge we may skirt the perimeter of the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge where we can lace our way through marshland channels and uninhabited islands. Many more routes and destinations await based on how adventurous we feel.
