we start with an introduction about antillean food. what kind of vegetables and spices we all use. Then we start with the main course because it takes more time to prepare. While the main course is cooking, we continue with the dessert, which also takes time. After the dessert we finally make the starter ready. We cover the table together and I show you how to serve a plate. Now you sit down to enjoy the appetizer while the cook keeps an eye on the kitchen. In the meantime, items that have been used are washed off (as we dont have a dishwasher) and we check whether the main course is ready. when it is not ready we can chat a bit about anything and everything. When the main course is ready we go back to the table to enjoy it. And it's time to feast on the dessert.
In his my younger years my husband Harvey worked at a hotel as a cook. It is still his hobby and he cook every day at home. Last year he also started "living room restaurant" where guests can have a meal at my home.The hospitality combined with the delicious dishes and the pleasant atmosphere make Black Crab living room restaurant a special location for a fun and surprising evening out. For him, cooking is the ultimate relaxation. Sitting in the kitchen for hours and then put down an extensive dinner for our guests. His dishes, here and there have a hint of spicy, sharp, sweet and sour.
