We teach classes and workshops year-round in our modern, inviting bakehouse and kitchen located in the beautiful countryside of northern Vermont.
All classes include not only hands-on, personalized instruction but also narratives about the terroir, traditional ingredients, and the unique culture that surround each bread, pastry, or dish we prepare. Our Bread Baking 101 classes are perfect for aspiring bakers and food lovers, no prior baking experience is necessary.
Thankful to be based in food-centered Vermont we use only organic ingredients and -whenever possible- we source from our homestead gardens and from local farms where the land, animals and workers are treated with respect and integrity. By promoting the use of chemical-free, whole food ingredients, we hope to contribute to building a sustainable bread and food culture.

I am Heike Meyer, bakeress and founder of Brotbakery. I am originally from Berlin, Germany where I learned to appreciate (and bake!) great breads and pastries.
Since then I have been baking alongside respected master bakers in Germany, France and the United States. Honoring the rich traditions of all artisan bakers and food makers around the globe, I am committed to teaching you all about natural bread making with natural starter cultures/ sourdough.

Где вы побываете

We will be holding the class in our bakehouse next to the red barn. You will see a wood-fired oven and a wooden sign "Brotbakery" at the entrance. Come on right up into the bakery upon arrival and start the class with a cup of coffee and some treats from the bakery.
