Чем вы займетесь
Starting with Um Qays Heritage and Archaeological site. Where we will learn about the Roman and Greek ruins and amphitheater, as well the mosaic remains and sculptures in the museum. The site is a witness to the different civilizations on our land. Moving on to a view overlooking Tiberias Lake, showing the Golan Heights, this division reflects the political discourse of the region. A bunk and an old tower remains nearby from the olden days, leaving space to the imagination of what was. Arriving at Al-Mukhaybeh village, our trip with the village’s locals as they host us begins. We will be welcomed by the head of the village for tea. We will then visit a cave by the Yarmouk River that sparks questions on the historical geography of the area. A pick-up truck will move us to a trail along the Arayes “Brides” pond, a beautiful sight with great stories. We will learn about the history of its name and significance in relation to the agricultural projects, the village’s famous hot springs and its current reality, while having lunch and discussing the exceptional handicrafts in the village and their significance across generations.
My name is Anas Amarneh and I am the founder of Through Local Eyes, a start up aiming to promote non-touristic destinations with a unique story to help local communities benefit from tourism in Jordan, and have their voices heard, while connecting touristic landmarks. I am a Tourism Management university student. I have lived and worked in various rural areas in Jordan, where I contributed in developing alternative programs and activities. My goal is to develop the new alternative Jordanian tourism map, which aims to be fair, sustainable and inclusive.. I have great interest in politics, heritage and identity, and have strong faith in the significance of cultural exchange. The programs I offer focus on fair, ethical, and sustainable experiences.

Где вы побываете
Al-Mukhaibeh Al Fawqa Village is located in the District of Irbid in the north of Jordan. Located along the Golan Heights, it is a buffer zone. Intimidating for most, it is actually the safest area as it’s protected for border reasons. This program was created to debunk this myth and help the village restore its touristic potential. This program has been organized for the specific needs of the village.
