Чем вы займетесь

Learn Malaysian martial art and then eat Malaysian food !

Training begins and ends with the practice of traditional breathing-related movements for warming up and stretching, a kind of “Silat yoga” traditionally used for meditation, body and mind health.
We will continue with the discovery of the first "Jurus" of the style, a series of traditional artistic and martial forms of the Silat, the "Seni" part, artistic component of the martial art.
We will then study the concrete practice of Silat’s self-defense techniques, the "Beladiri" part, self-defense component of the martial art. You'll learn how to strike with all eight limbs (fists, feet, knees, and elbows), how to protect yourself in the traditional way of Silat and how to use it for self-defense.
Finally, we will discover the cultural elements of Silat still inscribed in today's society, such as the famous kriss or keris.
This is a non-contact training session, so no need to worry about being hit back!
After the training you can take a shower and have a bath in our swimming pool if you wish.

Pencak Silat Master, Sebastien has been practicing this Southeast Asian martial art for over 25 years and has been teaching Silat in Kuala Lumpur since 2009. He is the Master of the famous "School of Pencak Silat Self Defense Kuala Lumpur". He is well- known for his modern teaching of the traditional Silat open to all and for his contribution to promoting Silat and helping those who wish to discover this wonderful local martial art.

We will conduct our class in our pleasant training place at 20 minutes from the center of Kuala Lumpur, very easily accessible by taxi.

I actually made 2 bookings. Morning session and late afternoon session. Make sure you come early because he cannot extend his time due to his other classes. I was late in my first class but because I enjoyed it so much, I had to book another session. If you are coming from the main KL city, Desa Park City is 30 minutes away by Grab Car. Not accessible by train/bus. The classes are held in the playground area of the village park, so if daytime session, wear sunscreen! And better if you wear loose clothing and shorts. also bring your water/beverage because there are no convenience stores/7-11/Family Mart nearby. OVERALL, you will learn self-defense and apply it. Seb will teach the compressed version.

So this is my second experience/class with Seb because I was so engaged in Silat. I have been into martial arts since I was 13 so to appreciate this experience, you must be INTERESTED in this skill/art. I was fortunate that I was his only student for BOTH classes so I really made the most out of our time. Desa City is 30 minutes away from my hotel (Hotel Istana) so if you consider doing this, make sure you leave at least 30 minutes before the schedule. Night class is preferred than day time because the sun is too hot. But bring insect repellant for mosquitoes. This is not an instagram-worthy activity/photoshoot. But more of an exercise, fat-burning, self-defense class. I enjoyed every minute of it. Now I practice my moves on my dad, my brother, my driver, and my boyfriend!
