Upon your arrival at our mini farm you will be met by your hosts, Susan and Barry along with our two high-energy Australian shepherds. They are very happy if you will spend some time with them tossing a ball. Before entering the pasture, you can expand your skills with a lesson in lassoing! We will teach you the technique and you can practice throwing a genuine western rope at our friendly “cow”!
Next, we will visit our three horses, JW and Teddy Bear that we ride, and our yearling filly little Sandy, who follows us around like a big dog. They all enjoy attention and are very sweet. You will spend time brushing them, caring for their feet, and feeling the energy of these gentle giants. Learn about the quarter horse and what people use them for and what makes them unique among horses. After grooming we will let you experience them up close and personal by leading them around the pasture. Can you get them to follow you without pulling on them? You can give them a treat after their "workout".
After your experience, you will leave with a greater understanding of and appreciation of these gentle giants and what it is like to live on a farm. Finally, we invite you into our historic home for coffee, hot chocolate, or a cold drink. Since this is an outdoor activity, inclement weather may cause cancellation.
